Mali : L'approvisionnement en carburant sous haute surveillance

Despite an unstable international context and persistent logistical challenges, Malian authorities are reaffirming their control over the hydrocarbon market. Following a strategic meeting held on April 9, 2026 , in Bamako, the government confirmed that delivery flows remain stable and secure throughout the country.

Rising figures: Logistics in action

Under the leadership of Moussa Alassane Diallo , Minister of Industry and Trade, the 19th consultation meeting provided an opportunity to compile a statistical overview of the current situation. The volumes transported demonstrate a sustained effort.

  1. Recent report (March 30 - April 5): Receipt of 640 tanks , representing approximately 29 million liters .
  2. Ongoing operations: 522 tankers are currently on the roads to supply the various regions.
  3. March total: A total of 116 million litres were imported over the past month.

Rigorous monitoring since the beginning of the year

Since January, the Malian government has established a framework for weekly consultations to anticipate disruptions. This precise management has made it possible to maintain progress despite fluctuations.

Period Imported volume (millions of litres) Number of tanks
Mid-January 54.7 -
Early February 38.7 843
Month of March 116 2,200 (approx.)

International challenges and strategic priorities

Market stability, however, remains threatened by tensions in the Middle East , which are weighing on global prices. In this context, diesel remains the top priority for authorities, being the essential engine:

  1. Freight transport.
  2. Industrial activity.
  3. From electricity production.
The State's strategy: To prepare for any eventuality, Mali is now focusing on securing road networks and diversifying entry corridors (ports in the sub-region) in order to guarantee continuous energy independence.
