1. Economy & Development: Creation of the FSDI
The government is taking a major step in managing its assets with the creation of the Sovereign Strategic Fund for the Development of Côte d'Ivoire (FSDI) .
- Role: To manage the state's strategic assets and finance vital infrastructure.
- Structure: It is based on three specialized pillars:
- Infrastructure Development Fund (Profitable Investments).
- Economic Stabilization Fund (Resilience to shocks).
- Strategic Financial Investment Funds (Long-term savings).
- Funding: A portion of the revenue from mining and energy will be directly allocated to it.
2. Employment & Living Environment
🛠️ Modernization of Labor Law
Eleven (11) decrees were adopted to modernize the 2015 Labor Code . They aim to balance economic development and social protection:
- Regulations concerning part-time work and teleworking.
- Clarification of notice periods and housing conditions.
- Strengthening hygiene and health at work .
💧 Public Hygiene and Sanitation
- Swimming pools and bathing: New strict standards for water quality and infrastructure safety now apply throughout Ivory Coast.
- Public Spaces: The installation of toilets and urinals is mandatory in high-traffic areas (markets, train stations). Their operation is subject to prior authorization from the Minister of Hygiene.
3. Energy & Transport
- Mining: Granting of a gold exploration permit to the company ANGEL RESOURCES SARL in the regions of Korhogo and Dikodougou (valid for 4 years).
- Port Logistics: Launch of barge transport at the Autonomous Port of Abidjan. The objective is to reduce traffic congestion by moving containers by river rather than by truck through the city.
4. Diplomacy (Individual Measures)
- Estonia: Mr. TOURE Pelikan Armand Hervé is appointed Ambassador (with residence in Copenhagen).
- Guinea: Mr. COULIBALY Issifou is appointed Ambassador to Conakry.
- Cooperation: Approval granted to Ms. Seniya SIDI HAIBA, the new Ambassador of Mauritania to Ivory Coast.
Note: The next Council of Ministers meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, 2026 .
