The candidate of the Rally of Houphouëtists for Democracy and Peace (RHDP), Alassane Ouattara, announced the upcoming construction of a highway linking Yamoussoukro to Daloa via Bouaflé, during the official opening meeting of his campaign held this Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Daloa stadium.
In front of thousands of activists and supporters, the outgoing head of state and candidate for his own succession took stock of his government's achievements in the Haut-Sassandra region between 2011 and 2025, while promising to intensify investments in infrastructure and local development.
According to data presented by the RHDP, 106 localities have been electrified, increasing the electricity coverage rate from 66% in 2011 to 98.5% in 2025. In terms of roads, 83 km of new asphalt has been laid, including 41 km of urban roads, not to mention the rehabilitation of major roads such as Bouaflé–Daloa (81 km), Issia–Daloa (57 km) and Zuénoula–Daloa (83 km).
The ruling party candidate also highlighted that nearly 3,000 km of rural roads have been reshaped to facilitate the flow of agricultural products to urban markets. "A lot has been done in Haut-Sassandra between 2011 and 2025. But we will do even more in the future," Alassane Ouattara promised, to cheers from the crowd.
