14ème Camp National des Volontaires : La Croix-Rouge Malienne célèbre 60 ans d’engagement
Opened on December 19, 2025 in Bamako, the 14th national camp for youth and volunteers of the Malian Red Cross marks a symbolic milestone. For four days, young people from across the country gather to strengthen their skills and reaffirm their role as pillars of humanitarian action in Mali.
This year's theme, "Malian Red Cross: 60 Years of Hope and Humanitarian Commitment Driven by Volunteers," pays tribute to the dedication of the 10,200 active volunteers in the country. Whether responding to health emergencies or social crises, these young people are the organization's first line of response.
The event brought together a prestigious panel of personalities, including:
For the leaders of the institution, this camp goes beyond a simple gathering; it is a true school of life and civic responsibility.
"If volunteering is a principle, the national camp is its incubator." — Assitan Coulibaly , National President of the Malian Red Cross.
Aboubacar Doumbia , president of the National Youth Commission, added to this by describing the camp as a space for strategic reflection. He invited Malian youth to see volunteering as a "moral duty," an opportunity to love and serve unconditionally.
The government, through Ibrahim Boubacar Kalossi, praised this initiative, which transforms young people into "builders of peace." In a demanding national context, the emphasis is placed on developing critical thinking and exemplary civic engagement.
Highlights of the ceremony:
This 14th camp confirms that, 60 years after its creation, the Malian Red Cross is relying more than ever on its youth to carry the torch of solidarity.
