Former Minister of Sports and Culture, Zizi Kodwa , is facing yet another legal twist. While the corruption charges against him were dropped in November 2024, the case has now been officially reopened.

The reason: He is accused of receiving $85,000 in bribes in connection with IT maintenance contracts for the Johannesburg metro.
The turning point: The former attorney general reversed the dropping of charges just before her retirement, contradicting the initial decision of the Gauteng prosecutor who deemed the evidence insufficient.

This case stems from investigations into "state looting" during the Jacob Zuma era.
