This is news that is making headlines in Benin. The prominent opposition figure, Candide Azannaï, was arrested on the morning of Friday, December 12th in Cotonou.
It is not known at this time what this critic of the Talon regime, who also served as Minister of Defense between April 2016 and March 2017, is accused of.
For several years, the man has been leading a "resistance" movement against the power of Patrice Talon, whom he accuses of authoritarian excesses.
