Burkina Faso : La radio de l'AES s'installe sur l'ancienne fréquence de RFI
The Burkinabe media landscape has marked a symbolic turning point. The 94.0 FM frequency, formerly occupied by Radio France Internationale (RFI), has been officially allocated to "Daandé Liptako", the media voice of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
The operating agreement, signed on December 17 in Ouagadougou between the High Council for Communication (CSC) and the Burkinabe diplomatic corps, formalizes the replacement of the French public radio station, which has been suspended since the end of 2022. For the transitional authorities, this project represents a lever for "informational sovereignty." The stated objective is to deconstruct foreign narratives and offer an endogenous narrative, adapted to the realities of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger.
The programs, produced in Ouagadougou in several national languages, will be broadcast simultaneously in Bamako and Niamey. The official launch is expected on December 22 and 23, coinciding with the AES Heads of State Summit in Mali.
