A case of extreme gravity is shaking the religious community in Ouagadougou. A spiritual leader, suspected of having used his position to abuse his followers, is currently in the hands of the justice system.

Serious and multiple accusations

It all started on April 30, 2026, when the first complaint was filed with the prosecutor's office against MOUMOUNI Ibrahima , better known as "Pastor Guillaume the Patriarch" .

According to initial findings of the investigation, the religious leader is accused of using his position of spiritual authority to coerce several followers into having sexual relations with him. To achieve his ends, he allegedly resorted to subterfuge and direct death threats. In addition to the sexual abuse, the suspect is accused of extorting large sums of money from the complainant and other victims.

Arrest, church closed, and investigation underway

Given the seriousness of the facts, the public prosecutor's office immediately referred the case to the police station of the 12th arrondissement of Ouagadougou. A thorough investigation is now underway into a series of damning charges:

  1. Allegations of rape and attempted rape
  2. Abuse of vulnerability and conditional threats
  3. Fraud and money laundering
  4. Public indecency and indecent exposure
Immediate measures: At this stage, "Pastor Guillaume the Patriarch" has been arrested and taken into custody. Furthermore, his place of worship, called the "Tabernacles Church of the Sons of the Kingdom of Heaven," has been closed by the authorities for the purposes of the investigation.

Appeal for witnesses launched by the justice system

Several victims, mainly women who attended the church, have already been interviewed by investigators. However, the authorities suspect there may be other victims or key witnesses.

The prosecutor's office therefore strongly encourages anyone concerned or having information about these actions to contact its services or to go directly to the Police Station of District 12 of Ouagadougou in order to make a statement.
