A national arrest warrant has been issued for His Majesty Charly Constant Noussi Pokam , head of the Baloum group (Penka-Michel district, Western region). The police and gendarmerie are actively searching for him.

The facts: A double murder of extreme violence

According to a message dated June 15, 2026 and signed by Colonel Saïbou Abba, Chief of Staff of the Western Gendarmerie Legion, the traditional chief is on the run after the murder of two people that occurred in his group on June 5, 2026.

He is specifically accused of ordering the execution of these two individuals. Among the victims is Stève Achille Diffo . Accused of stealing sheet metal without tangible evidence, this young man was:

1. Arrested and forcibly taken to the chiefdom of Baloum.
2. Tied up (feet and hands bound) and violently beaten.
3. He was dragged and put to death in the public street, before his body was burned.

The reaction of the authorities and the enforcement of the law

Faced with widespread outrage and public fears that a senior leader could escape justice because of his status, the judicial authorities reacted firmly.

This arrest warrant is a reminder of the fundamental principle of the rule of law: no one is above the law . A traditional chief, whose role is to protect his people, cannot arrogate to himself the right of life or death.

As soon as he is apprehended, His Majesty Charly Constant Noussi Pokam must be taken to the headquarters of the Western Gendarmerie Legion. The ongoing investigation aims to:
