Cameroun : Le député Abe Michael Nndra enlevé puis exécuté par des séparatistes présumés
Cameroonian MP Abe Michael Nndra, representing the Ako/Mesaje special constituency in the North West region, has been found dead, executed by suspected separatists.
His kidnapping occurred shortly after the presidential election on October 12. The parliamentarian, while returning from his political activities, was kidnapped in the town of Ndu, Donga Mantung department, and taken to an unknown destination. Other people traveling with him were also taken hostage.
According to available information, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of 15 million CFA francs for the MP's release. Other sums were reportedly demanded for the other hostages, whose fate remains uncertain to this day.
The family of the politician, a member of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee, claims to have paid six million CFA francs to the hostage-takers. Despite receiving this sum, the kidnappers reportedly maintained pressure to obtain the remainder of the ransom. They ultimately took the life of the parliamentarian.
Abe Michael Nndra was known for his commitment to peace and the implementation of development projects within his constituency.
An investigation has been opened to identify the perpetrators of this act and to find the other people still in detention.
