Cameroun : Les Comités de Vigilance, un pilier fondamental de la sécurité nationale
Vigilance Committees are now considered a key and indispensable element of the security system deployed by the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) in Cameroon, particularly in close collaboration with the Rapid Intervention Battalion ( BIR ).
Acting as local intermediaries , these committees fulfill a vital function, positioning themselves as true allies of the regular armed forces in the ongoing effort to consolidate peace and stability throughout the national territory.
Their main actions, carried out on the ground, are essential to the country's security:
The Head of State, who is also Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has already publicly praised the commitment, sense of duty and courage shown by these committees in service to the Nation.
With a view to recognizing their strategic role, the BIR maintains continuous and diversified support for them. This support aims at a dual objective:
