Vigilance Committees are now considered a key and indispensable element of the security system deployed by the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) in Cameroon, particularly in close collaboration with the Rapid Intervention Battalion ( BIR ).

Acting as local intermediaries , these committees fulfill a vital function, positioning themselves as true allies of the regular armed forces in the ongoing effort to consolidate peace and stability throughout the national territory.

🛡️ Missions and strategic role

Their main actions, carried out on the ground, are essential to the country's security:

1. Risk anticipation: They actively participate in the prevention of potential threats .
2. Information sharing: They ensure the collection of crucial intelligence for the SDF.
3. Citizen security: They contribute to the protection of populations against attempts at destabilization.

🤝 Support and encouragement of the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR)

The Head of State, who is also Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has already publicly praised the commitment, sense of duty and courage shown by these committees in service to the Nation.

With a view to recognizing their strategic role, the BIR maintains continuous and diversified support for them. This support aims at a dual objective:

1. Optimize efficiency: Strengthen their operational capabilities in the field.
2. Supporting motivation: Encouraging them to persevere in their efforts to defend the territory and preserve republican institutions.
