Catastrophe au Kenya : 42 morts après des inondations dévastatrices
The death toll is rising in Kenya. Following torrential rains that have struck the country, the government has officially confirmed the deaths of 42 people as of March 8, 2026.
Geoffrey Ruku, Secretary of State for Special Programs, released these alarming figures last Sunday from Nairobi. Beyond the loss of life, the country is facing considerable material damage.
"The government wishes to assure the public that all response agencies remain fully mobilized and on high alert." — Geoffrey Ruku
The situation remains precarious. Kenyan meteorological services are forecasting continued torrential rain in the coming days. Authorities are urging the population to exercise extreme caution to prevent the death toll from rising further.
Efforts are currently focused on supporting those affected and restoring the most impacted areas in order to allow a return to normal as quickly as possible.
