Conflit au Soudan : Le Tchad dénonce des « accusations grotesques » devant la CPI

The Chadian government reacted with strong indignation following the complaint filed with the International Criminal Court (ICC) by the Sudanese NGO Priority Peace Sudan . This organization accuses N'Djamena of involvement in the Sudanese civil war, a move that the Chadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs describes as a baseless political maneuver.

A reaffirmed neutrality in the face of criticism

Chad categorically rejects all responsibility for the clashes between the regular army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The ministry reiterates that:

  1. Chad has maintained strict neutrality since the beginning of the conflict.
  2. The FSR were initially created and armed by the Khartoum regime itself.
  3. N'Djamena is making repeated calls for a ceasefire and a political resolution in all international forums.

Chad, a collateral victim of the crisis

Far from being a player in the conflict, the authorities present the country as one of those paying the heaviest price. With more than 1.5 million Sudanese refugees hosted since 2023, Chad faces a colossal humanitarian, economic, and environmental challenge, often without the expected international aid.

A diversionary tactic by Khartoum?

For the Chadian government, this referral to the ICC—orchestrated by a very recently created NGO (November 2025)—is a diversionary tactic. The ministry points the finger directly at the Khartoum regime for:

  1. The collapse of the Sudanese state.
  2. The documented use of chemical weapons and prohibited methods of warfare.
  3. Alleged links to terrorist movements.
"This attempt aims to mask the failures of the Sudanese regime and its own responsibilities under international law," the statement said.

Sovereignty and the quest for peace

Chad concluded by reiterating its commitment to regional stability. While remaining open to dialogue for peace, the country warned that it would take all necessary measures to defend its honor and sovereignty against these slanderous allegations.
