Coup de balai dans l’armée au Nigeria : Tinubu limoge le chef d'État-major de la défense et plusieurs généraux
In Nigeria, General Christopher Musa is no longer the Chief of Defense Staff. He was dismissed from his post by President Bola Tinubu. The new incumbent is Olufemi Oluyede.
At least, that's what the President's Special Advisor on Media, Sunday Dare, said in a statement released last Friday.
In addition to General Musa, the heads of the army, air force, and navy were also dismissed and replaced. The new chief of staff of the army is Major General Waidi Shaibu. Air Vice Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke takes command of the air force. The navy, meanwhile, will now be headed by Rear Admiral Idi Abbas.
The head of defence intelligence, Major General EAP Undiendeye, remains in his post.
In the statement released by Sunday Dare, President Tinubu, the “Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces,” expressed “his deepest gratitude to the outgoing Chief of Army Staff, General Christopher, and other service chiefs for their patriotic service and dedicated leadership.”
