Dakar-Abidjan-Cotonou : le vol d’Air Sénégal frôle la catastrophe

Shortly after taking off from Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD) for Cotonou (Benin) via Abidjan (Ivory Coast), an Air Senegal flight encountered a technical problem that forced it to return to its point of origin. L'Observateur, which reported the incident in its Thursday edition, stated that while the aircraft was "above the clouds, the crew encountered a critical failure of the windshield, a failure (a system malfunction, a component breakage, not to be confused with a crack) deemed beyond any operational tolerance."

The captain then decided to turn back, initiating emergency procedures, the newspaper reports. It also states that the flight was carrying 142 passengers; 77 were bound for Abidjan and the remaining 65 were headed to Cotonou.
