Drame de Tiné : L’État tchadien s’engage pour la vérité et l'apaisement
Following the tragedy caused by a drone in Tiné, a high-level government delegation visited the site on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. This mission led to an expanded meeting involving administrative authorities, traditional chiefs and representatives of the victims' families.
The challenge is threefold: to shed light on the circumstances of the tragedy, to restore confidence in the institutions and to guarantee the security of a tense border region.
The meeting, chaired by Major General Issakha Malloua Djamous , Minister of Defence, underscored the State's commitment to placing the protection of civilians at the heart of its priorities.
The success of this mission hinges on collaboration with local stakeholders. Traditional leaders welcomed this initiative by the government, seeing it as a sign of respect and consideration. They pledged to work towards social cohesion and to prevent any escalation of violence.
The families' wait: For the victims' loved ones, the time has come to seek answers. Their representatives have formally requested an acceleration of the proceedings so that responsibilities can be clearly established.
This visit marks a crucial step for the Chadian government. By choosing the path of transparency and direct dialogue, the state is attempting to transform a tragedy into a lever for shared responsibility, aiming to achieve lasting stability in this sensitive area.
