Élections apaisées/cohésion nationale : L'OSCS mobilise 352 experts

The Ministry of National Cohesion, Solidarity and the Fight against Poverty will conduct a special electoral observation mission aimed at preventing and peacefully managing electoral conflicts.

This mission was launched on Monday, October 6, at the headquarters of the Oscs located in Cocody, by Yves Joël Kouadio, director of the cabinet of the Ministry of National Cohesion, Solidarity and the Fight against Poverty.

For him, this observation mission intervenes in the electoral process as a real tool for preventing and managing electoral violence and conflicts. It reinforces the efforts made by the said ministry for the organization of peaceful elections in the country.

The electoral observation mission is led by the Observatory of Solidarity and Social Cohesion (OSCS), a monitoring, alert and decision-making body in matters of solidarity and social cohesion, headed by Coulibaly Tiohozon Ibrahima.

It will involve 352 people, including 280 observers and 33 supervisors. It will cover the thirty-one regions and the two autonomous districts, Yamoussoukro and Abidjan.

"Particular emphasis will be placed on the fourteen areas of interest that we have identified as part of our National Social Cohesion Program (PNCS) 2024-2025. These are the regions of Agnéby-Tiassa, Bélier, Grands Ponts, Gbêkê, Gôh, Guémon, Haut-Sassandra, Iffou, Indénié-Djuablin, Lôh-Djiboua, Moronou, Sud-Comoé, Tchologo and the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro. These areas of interest will receive the largest number of observers, in addition to the Autonomous District of Abidjan," he added.

"We have, in fact, made remarkable progress in terms of peace consolidation, enabling us to achieve continued economic growth, the fruits of which have helped improve the living conditions of populations throughout the country," he also said.
