End of Digital Week 2025: Burkina Faso's Tech Elite Celebrated with Major Awards!

The curtain fell on the 20th edition of Digital Week this Friday, November 21, 2025, during the highly anticipated Night of the Winners .

This iconic event marked the consecration of the brightest and most innovative minds in the Burkinabe technology sector, with prizes ranging from 500,000 FCFA to 2 million FCFA , and spectacular bonuses.

A Jury Won Over by the Innovation

Under the chairmanship of Kisito TRAORÉ, former Secretary General of the Ministry of Digital Transition, Posts and Electronic Communications, the jury wished to commend the exceptional quality of the submitted projects and the passionate commitment of the participants.

Innovation Champions Rewarded

💻 Hackathon Competition:

  1. 1st Prizes (3 Categories): The winners of each category will receive 1 million FCFA .
  2. 2nd Prize (3 Categories): The runners-up in each category receive 500,000 FCFA .

🚀 Startup Competition: Artificial Intelligence in the Spotlight

Twelve (12) startups were selected as finalists and each received an initial grant of 2 million FCFA to boost their growth.

The highlights of the evening were the exceptional "Coups de Cœur" (People's Choice) awards , which added impressive amounts to the base prices:

Prime Minister Translation/speech synthesis/transcription application. 2 million FCFA Democratizing information by translating local languages into French.
President of the ALT Platform for monitoring chronic diseases. 2 million FCFA Improving the management and monitoring of patients suffering from long-term illnesses.
President of Burkina Faso Faso Math platform. 3 million FCFA To make mathematics more accessible and demystify science for the public.

Tributes and Recognition

The Minister in charge of Digital Affairs, Aminata ZERBO/SABANE, as well as the sponsors and Ministers of Digital Affairs from the invited countries, warmly congratulated all the winners for their contribution to the digital future of Burkina Faso.

Beyond the competitions, honorary awards were presented to recognize key figures who have contributed to the national development of digital technology, including:

  1. Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel OUEDRAOGO .
  2. The Minister of Health, Robert Lucien Marie KARGOUGOU .
  3. The former minister in charge of digital affairs, Hadja OUATTARA .

The 20th edition of Digital Week thus ended on a note of excellence, confirming the driving role of Burkinabe youth in the country's digital transformation.
