The Malian Treasury has returned to the WAEMU financial market. Bamako has launched a new auction aimed at raising 30 billion CFA francs to support state finances.

Details of the operation

The issue consists of three types of securities, allowing investors to choose according to different maturities:

Treasury Bonds (BAT): A maturity of 12 months , with an expiry date set for March 3, 2027.
Treasury Bonds (OATs): Two tranches of 3 years and 5 years , maturing respectively in March 2029 and March 2031.

Financial conditions

The attractiveness of this exit strategy lies in fixed and variable rates depending on the instrument chosen:

Refund terms

For investors, the payment rules are clearly defined by UMOA-Titres:

For Bonds (BAT): Interest is prepaid (paid in advance) on the nominal value, with repayment of the capital from the first working day following the maturity date.
For Bonds (OAT): Interest payments will be made annually, starting at the end of the first year.

Note: This new request confirms Mali's regular strategy of relying on regional savings to finance its development projects.
