✊ Grève illimitée à l'Enseignement Supérieur : L'Université de N'Zérékoré à l'arrêt
N'Zérékoré, Guinea – Classes have been completely paralyzed at the University of N'Zérékoré since Monday, November 3, 2025, following the launch of an unlimited strike by the National Autonomous Union of Higher Education and Scientific Research (SNAESURS) throughout Guinea.
The movement aims to demand that the authorities respect and fully implement signed agreements concerning the improvement of teachers' living and working conditions.
On the ground, the situation is unequivocal: the gates are closed , the classrooms are deserted and the teachers are massively mobilized, as noted by a reporter from Guineematin.com .
When questioned, Pépé Monèmou , general secretary of the SNAESURS union section in N'Zérékoré, explained the reasons for this strike:
“At the University of N'Zérékoré, there are no classes because we are on strike due to the non-implementation of the decree signed by the President of the Republic, Mamady Doumbouya … If the points mentioned in this decree are not implemented, we will not remain in class.”
The union representative listed the main grievances that sparked the movement:
Pépé Monèmou emphasizes the union's determination: "If our rights are not restored, we will not be in class under any circumstances; we will not pick up the chalk."
The union has instructed all teachers to stay home to maintain the strength of the movement. Classes will only resume after satisfactory negotiations with the authorities and the official suspension of the strike.
