L'« Opération Djembe » : Un Coup de Filet International Contre le Crime Organisé

A major transnational police operation , dubbed "Operation Djembe", resulted in the dismantling of several organized criminal networks in West Africa and the rescue of numerous victims of human trafficking.

Led jointly by the law enforcement agencies of Ivory Coast , Ghana and Nigeria , this operation was orchestrated and coordinated by the international organizations INTERPOL and AFRIPOL .

🚨 The Targets and the Impressive Results

"Operation Djembe" targeted groups involved in a wide range of criminal activities , from drug trafficking and human trafficking to extortion , money laundering and cybercrime .

The results of this coordinated action speak for themselves:

Victims Rescued: 202 people who were victims of human trafficking have been freed.
Arrests: A total of 204 arrests were made, including 71 suspected members of West African organized crime groups.
Migrants: 22 undocumented migrants have also been identified.
Significant Seizures:
58 kg of illicit drugs were confiscated.
71 vehicles used by these networks were seized.

This successful operation concretely underlines the effectiveness and necessity of international and regional cooperation to curb transnational crime in West Africa.
