Lagos : Incendie à l'aéroport Murtala Muhammed, le trafic aérien paralysé
A fire broke out late Monday afternoon, February 23, 2026, at Lagos International Airport in Nigeria. Six people were injured , and all flights were suspended.
According to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the fire is believed to have started in the server room on the first floor of Terminal 1.
As a safety precaution, the airspace was immediately closed, causing significant disruptions:
Ironically, the area affected by the fires was undergoing a major modernization program. This renovation project represents a colossal investment of 712 billion naira (approximately $530 million).
Although the fire is now under control, rescue teams remain mobilized to fully secure the site and prevent any flare-ups.
