Le Tchad face au drame de Dibébé : La CNDH exige une réponse ferme et la fin de l'impunité

The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) of Chad expressed its shock and deep concern following the intercommunal clashes that erupted on November 4, 2025, in Dibébé, in the Hadjer-Lamis province (N'Goura department). These deadly clashes reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least 33 people, according to initial estimates.

In an official statement, the institution declared itself "deeply saddened" by this tragedy and issued an urgent appeal to the governing bodies. The CNDH called for "diligent and transparent" management of the crisis by local administrative, military, and judicial authorities, as well as the Chadian government.

Zero tolerance for impunity

The human rights body insists on the need to identify, bring to justice, and severely punish those responsible for these acts of violence. The Commission strongly affirms that impunity cannot be tolerated in the face of such atrocities.

It also recalls the fundamental duty of the State to guarantee the security of its citizens and to ensure the maintenance of social peace.

  1. Call to action: The CNDH urges the authorities to intensify measures to prevent conflicts between communities.
  2. Promoting cohesion: It underlines the importance of strengthening national cohesion through dialogue and equity.

The National Commission concluded its statement by offering its sincere condolences to the families affected by this tragedy, while reiterating its unwavering commitment to the protection of human rights and stability in Chad.
