A wave of horror has swept through the Tsarafaritra Tsimbazaza neighborhood following the discovery of the body of Miguel , a six-year-old boy, who was brutally murdered. The incident occurred the day after his birthday, Friday, November 14.

The Horror of Discovery

Miguel disappeared around 5:30 p.m. while playing in front of his family home. Despite intensive searches by his relatives and neighbors, it wasn't until nightfall that a chilling discovery was made.

It was around 12:30 a.m. on Friday night/Saturday morning that his body was found hidden in a canal behind a gas station. The child was the victim of unspeakable violence.

1. He had suffered at least three stab wounds .
2. His neck was broken .
3. He had other head injuries .
4. His body, covered in mud and sand, bore marks suggesting that he had been trampled .

A Complex Family Context

Miguel lived with his father and stepmother after his parents separated. According to his aunt, Véronique Razafimahazo, the child was not always treated kindly and experienced hardship. His temperament, described as lively and boisterous , may have caused tension within the household.

Before that, Miguel had been raised by his grandmother and aunt for two and a half years, until his father took him back.

Emotion and Mystery

The shockwave was immediate. While the neighborhood collapsed in tears at the horror of the crime, the lack of emotion displayed by some relatives at the time of the discovery puzzled the residents.

The mother-in-law was taken to the fokontany (neighborhood) after the tragedy, but has not returned since.

His biological mother, who lives in Ambohipo, actively participated in the search. It was Miguel's father who was most involved and who ultimately made the terrible discovery of the body.

The Call for Justice

The family has already been interviewed by the Criminal Investigation Division. Procedures have been initiated with the Municipal Hygiene Office, but the autopsy is pending the court's approval of the necessary documents, expected today. Miguel's body remains at the morgue in the meantime.

The father vowed to fight tooth and nail until justice is served. The neighborhood, deeply moved, joins the family in urging authorities to expedite the investigation and shed light on this barbaric murder. To date, no arrests have been made.
