Madagascar/ Vol à Ankorondrano : La cavale éclair d’un coursier « fidèle » finit en garde à vue
A trusted employee turned to crime on January 13th. Sent by his company, based in Talatamaty, to withdraw 50 million ariary in Ankorondrano, the courier fled with the money. To cover his tracks, he sent a false text message to his employers, claiming a police seizure, before cutting off all contact.
The Mandrosoa gendarmerie quickly ended his escape. Located in Ankadikely-Ilafy the very next day, the man was arrested with almost all of the funds, divided between cash and deposits in mobile money accounts (Mvola and Orange Money). Within 48 hours, the suspect had already invested in a new scooter and paid for various personal expenses. The remaining assets and money were returned to the company, while the defendant now awaits trial.
