A new attack attributed to the Boko Haram terrorist group has struck the Chadian community in Niger. According to an official statement from the Chadian embassy in Niamey released on April 3, 2026 , seven nationals were captured during a violent incursion.

The toll of the attack

The incident, which is very serious, has resulted in civilian casualties:

Kidnappings: 7 Chadian nationals are currently in the hands of kidnappers.
Human casualty: One death has been officially confirmed by diplomatic authorities.

A worrying security situation

This act illustrates the persistence of insecurity in the region, where Boko Haram elements continue to carry out harassment and kidnapping operations on both sides of the borders.

Note: The Embassy of the Republic of Chad remains mobilized and is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with the Nigerien authorities to try to find the missing persons.
