Nigeria : 11 otages libérés par l'armée après trois mois de captivité

The Nigerian army announced on Tuesday the successful rescue of 11 people held hostage for nearly 92 days. The operation took place at night along the strategic Kaduna-Abuja axis, an area particularly affected by insecurity.

A precision nighttime operation

Thanks to the use of long-range surveillance equipment, troops from the Doka operational base spotted the kidnappers on January 26. The criminals were attempting to move their captives through a wooded area, taking advantage of the darkness to remain undetected.

The rescued group consists of:

  1. 5 men
  2. 3 women
  3. 3 children

These victims were abducted last October in the town of Gada Mallam Maman , located in Kaduna State.

A highly tense security situation

The Kaduna-Abuja corridor has become one of the most dangerous points in the country, where kidnappings for ransom are now commonplace. This instability is attracting international attention.

  1. Diplomatic pressure: US President Donald Trump is closely monitoring the situation, having recently condemned the violence targeting religious communities.
  2. Resurgence of attacks: Just last week, more than 160 worshippers were kidnapped in attacks on two churches in the Kaduna region.
