Nigeria : Un nouveau massacre fait au moins 46 morts dans l'État du Niger
Central-western Nigeria is sinking further into violence. On Saturday, bloody raids carried out by armed groups claimed the lives of at least 46 people in three locations in Niger State.
According to local humanitarian sources, the attackers operated with extreme cruelty in the Borgu district, bordering Kwara State:
These attacks come amid a climate of terror already exacerbated by the massacre of more than 160 people in early February in the neighbouring state of Kwara.
Nigeria faces a fragmentation of threats that now exceeds the response capabilities of its security forces. The situation has drawn international criticism, notably from the United States, which points to the federal government's inability to stabilize the country.
