Nigeria: Vague de Licenciements au Sein des Services de Renseignement Nigérians

Nigeria's Department of State Services (DSS), its intelligence agency, announced on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the dismissal of 115 employees . This announcement marks the second major reshuffle within the security apparatus of Africa's most populous nation.

In an official statement, the DSS said: "As part of ongoing reforms within the Department of State Services (DSS), a total of 115 employees have been laid off."

Although the agency did not specify the exact period of the dismissals, the names, photos and dismissal dates of those involved are published on the DSS website, revealing that some of these departures date back to April.

These dismissals come shortly after President Bola Tinubu 's reshuffle of the top military brass the previous month. This context is marked by persistent press rumors of a coup plot .

The Nigerian government and military have officially denied allegations that at least 16 officers were arrested in connection with an alleged conspiracy. They maintain that the arrests were solely for disciplinary reasons.
