In the Democratic Republic of Congo, authorities are intensifying their actions targeting the associates of Corneille Nangaa , the coordinator of the Congo River Alliance (AFC/M23). This offensive, which goes beyond the strictly political sphere, is now directly impacting the family circle of the former president of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI).

A new arrest in Haut-Uele

The latest major incident involves Didier Ilaani Nangaa . Detained for nearly two weeks by the National Intelligence Agency (ANR) in Haut-Uele province, he is at the heart of a multifaceted case. Although he has been questioned in the past, his current arrest is officially linked to a mining dispute concerning a gold exploration concession, a recurring theme in investigations targeting the Nangaa family's assets.

Tracking funding and arms caches

Beyond land disputes, Congolese security services have been pursuing a strategy of increased surveillance for the past two years:

1. Financial networks: Investigation into the supply circuits of the AFC/M23 rebellion.
2. Military research: Locating possible arms caches in the Wamba territory.
3. Pressure on the elderly: As an example, Corneille Nangaa's father (86 years old) had his home searched in 2024.

A heavy family toll: Convictions and exile

The Congolese justice system has already handed down harsh sentences against the Nangaa clan. The current situation within the family is as follows:
