The Grand-Yoff district of Dakar is in shock following the arrest of an 18-year-old delivery driver. The young man is being prosecuted for a series of serious crimes committed against a 27-year-old married woman: kidnapping, confinement, rape, and blackmail.

A method of operation based on manipulation

The investigation reveals that the suspect initially gained the victim's trust by getting close to her child. This strategy allowed him to obtain the young woman's phone number. What seemed like ordinary conversations took a dark turn when the delivery driver lured her into a trap.

The victim stated that she was locked in a room and forced, under threat, to undergo several sexual acts.

Blackmail and repeated violence

To ensure the victim's silence and continue his abuse, the suspect allegedly used intimidation tactics:

1. Video blackmail: He claimed to possess compromising images to demand new reports.
2. Knife attack: Last March, he allegedly tried to kidnap her on a motorcycle at knifepoint. A tragedy was narrowly averted thanks to the intervention of a security guard.

A damning investigation

Two major factors complicate the case:

1. Medical examination: Tests revealed that the victim is currently three months pregnant .
2. Arrest: After increased surveillance, the suspect was apprehended on April 18.

Although the accused denies all the facts despite medical evidence and testimonies, he was brought before the prosecutor in Dakar .

This case has sparked strong emotions in Senegal, leaving a lasting impression due to the cruelty of the acts attributed to an individual barely 18 years old.
