Sénégal : Kaolack : poursuite des opérations de désencombrement sous la supervision du préfet
Kaolack, October 18 (APS) – Decongestion operations continued Saturday in several arteries of the city of Kaolack (center), under the supervision of Prefect Latyr Ndiaye, APS noted.
Placed under the coordination of the Departmental Delegation for the Living Environment and Public Hygiene, with the support of other decentralized technical services, these operations mobilized significant human and material resources.
The teams intervened in particular along National Road No. 1 (RN1), on the axis linking the "Cœur de ville" Complex to Kahone.
The actions carried out on this section have made it possible to free up several strategic areas previously occupied by spontaneous markets, kiosks, canteens, stalls, tables and other anarchic installations.
Unauthorized mechanics' garages, as well as illegal dumps and precarious housing, have also been dismantled by teams deployed on the ground since the official launch of operations last Thursday.
"The operations took place calmly, rigorously and professionally, reflecting the constant commitment of the Departmental Delegation for the Living Environment and Public Hygiene to restore order, clean up the rights-of-way and sustainably improve the living environment of the population," declared Cheikh Diouf, head of this structure.
