Solidarité : Le Patronat du Kadiogo au chevet des commerçants sinistrés du marché de Paspanga
Following the violent fire that ravaged part of the Paspanga market on Sunday, November 30, the Kadiogo region employers' association showed its solidarity by visiting the site on Thursday, December 4.
A significant delegation, led by Lassané Compaoré , secretary in charge of social affairs for the Employers' Association, went to offer their support to the traders who saw their goods reduced to ashes.
Mr. Compaoré explained that the initiative came from the president of the Kadiogo Employers' Association, El Hadj Amado Ouédraogo , who is currently out of the country.
"With a heavy heart, he sent us to come and support the occupants of the Paspanga market because this unfortunate event affects all of Burkina Faso," he said.
While expressing his condolences to the victims, the head of the delegation delivered a message of faith and hope. He encouraged the traders to support one another and to continue praying, believing that such an event could be the prelude to future successes.
"It is possible that through our prayers, God will make you prosper in your activities and by next year you will call us to celebrate your successes," he said, visibly moved by the extent of the damage.
Issouf Sana , the delegate of Paspanga, warmly welcomed the visitors on behalf of the mobilized traders. He expressed his gratitude for this show of support.
“We are certainly discouraged by the situation we are facing, but the various forms of psychological support we have already received since the unfortunate event are a comfort,” he confided. “The fact that people are coming to visit us strengthens us further and gives us the strength to hope for a better tomorrow.”
He reminded everyone that the victims are "small business owners" and that any help is welcome.
The head of the delegation from the Employers' Association indicated that he would give a detailed report to the president, thus enabling the Employers' Association to determine what material or financial assistance it could provide to the victims.
As a reminder, the fire, whose origin remains unknown and is the subject of a forensic investigation, destroyed nearly 160 stalls and damaged merchandise such as condiments and coolers. This event is reminiscent of the fire that occurred in January 2023 at the neighboring Sankar-Yaaré market.
