Sommet de l’AES à Bamako : Vers une souveraineté médiatique et politique
The media and political landscape of the Sahel has reached a historic milestone. This Sunday, December 21, 2025, the ministerial session of the Confederation of Sahel States (AES) concluded in Bamako with a significant event: the official launch of "Télé AES" .
The Battle for Information: Under the leadership of Malian Prime Minister, Major General Abdoulaye Maïga, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger have signed an agreement to launch their own television channel. This joint media outlet aims to amplify the voice of the Confederation, defend its sovereign vision, and strengthen the unity of the Sahelian people in the face of the challenges of disinformation.
A major political turning point. This meeting was in preparation for the summit of Heads of State scheduled for Monday, December 22nd. Under the chairmanship of General Assimi Goïta, the Alliance, initially a military force, confirmed its transformation into a solid political confederation . The objective is clear: to build a development space free from foreign influence and post-colonial models.
