Tchad et Nigeria : Un front commun pour la sécurité et l'économie
Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno paid an official visit to Abuja on April 2, 2026, to meet with his Nigerian counterpart, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This meeting, initially a one-on-one discussion followed by a broader meeting with their respective delegations, aimed to revitalize the partnership between the two nations.
Strengthening trade and securing the Lake Chad Basin were central to the discussions. Faced with the continued presence of the Boko Haram terrorist group, Marshal Mahamat Idriss Deby reiterated Chad's unwavering commitment. He affirmed that his country would continue to play a leading role within the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) to eradicate cross-border insecurity.
