Tchad: N'Djaména : Le maire du $1^{er}$ arrondissement maintient l'arrêté sur les heures de fermeture des débits de boisson
The mayor of the 1st district of N'Djamena, Djamai Yaya Moussa, held a working session this Wednesday, October 22, 2025, with representatives of bar, cabaret and food store owners in his constituency.
This meeting follows the observation of non-compliance with the municipal decree setting the closing times for these establishments. The town hall emphasized that this regulation is primarily intended to ensure public safety and peace within the municipality.
During the discussions, the delegation asked the mayor for a relaxation or the granting of an exception to this decision.
In response, Djamai Yaya Moussa reiterated the need to prioritize the general interest over individual interests. He emphasized that this measure is essential to protect citizens in the face of the increase in assaults and nighttime incidents reported in the district.
The mayor, however, affirmed that the municipality remains willing to support professionals in the sector, provided that they strictly comply with the rules in force.
