Tchad : PSSET et COSET redoutent une paralysie de la rentrée scolaire 2025-2026
The education union platforms, PSSET and COSET , are sounding the alarm in Chad. They accuse the government of implementing strategies aimed at circumventing the negotiating commission initially mandated to finalize the special status agreement for teachers.
According to the unions, these delaying tactics are deliberately postponing the signing and publication of the implementing decree for Decree 2850 and its memorandum of understanding. This obstruction is detrimental to all teaching staff and jeopardizes the stability of the national education system .
PSSET and COSET set a firm condition to guarantee the continuity of academic activities: the effective application of these statutory texts must take place no later than January 2026 .
The trade unions clearly warn that the Government will be held solely responsible for any disruption or interruption that may affect the progress of the 2025-2026 school year.
Despite this warning, the unions reaffirm their willingness to engage in dialogue , provided that it is sincere, transparent and respectful of previously made commitments .
