Tension à la frontière : le Tchad dénonce une attaque meurtrière des FSR
The Chadian army raised its voice on Saturday, December 27, after the deaths of two of its soldiers in the border town of Al-Tina. The attack, carried out by a drone belonging to the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces (RSF), also left one soldier wounded.
Describing the attack as an "unjustified aggression" and a deliberate violation of international law, the Chadian military command noted that these were the first direct military losses since the start of the Sudanese conflict in April 2023. N'Djamena is now invoking the threat of self-defense: citing Article 51 of the UN Charter, the army says it is ready to retaliate by any means necessary in the event of a new incursion. This escalation comes as paramilitaries loyal to General Dogolo's army extend their control over North Darfur, committing numerous atrocities near Chadian territory.
