Tolérance zéro à la CAF : Patrice Motsepe tape du poing sur la table
The president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Dr. Patrice Motsepe, toughened his tone this Friday, January 30, 2026. Still marked by the "unacceptable incidents" of the 2025 AFCON final in Morocco, the leader displayed his firm intention to restore the image of continental football.
While accepting the latest sanctions from the Disciplinary Committee, Motsepe is already preparing the institutional response. A strategic meeting of the Executive Committee (COMEX) will be held soon to reform the Disciplinary Code . The objective is clear: to strengthen CAF's legal arsenal in order to impose truly dissuasive sanctions.
The president is also counting on raising the standard of refereeing. By promising increased financial and technical resources for officials and VAR, he hopes that African impartiality will become a global benchmark. "Our referees must embody excellence," he emphasized, placing integrity at the heart of his mandate.
