Violences électorales en Tanzanie : des bâtiments gouvernementaux incendiés à Dar es Salaam
Tanzania has been gripped by a wave of election-related violence since October 29, 2025. In Dar es Salaam, several government buildings have been targeted by arson attacks, including a courthouse and the headquarters of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party. Police stations have also been attacked amidst a climate of high tension.
These disturbances are occurring in the context of the presidential and parliamentary elections, marked by accusations of exclusion of the opposition and fraud. As incumbent President Samia Suluhu Hassan seeks another term, authorities have imposed a curfew starting at 6 p.m. and restricted internet access during the final hours of voting.
The situation remains volatile, and calls for restraint are multiplying in a country that was previously considered stable in the region.
