Côte d’Ivoire : la Police nationale alerte sur de fausses cartes d’identification en circulation
The National Police of Ivory Coast issued an alert to the population on Thursday, November 13, 2025, regarding the presence of individuals claiming to be from an unrecognized unit and carrying unofficial identification cards .
According to a statement from the General Directorate of the National Police (DGPN), these cards, currently circulating in certain areas of the country, do not originate from any legitimate branch of the defense and security forces . The National Police therefore urges vigilance and encourages citizens to immediately report any individual presenting such documents to the nearest police station or gendarmerie brigade.
This approach aims to prevent cases of identity theft and to guarantee the safety of the population.
The authorities also remind the public that any official identification card must be issued by structures authorized and recognized by the State.
In conclusion, the National Police urges the public to be cautious and cooperative in order to avoid any manipulation or attempted fraud that could harm public safety.
