Ivory Coast has reached a strategic milestone in its international cooperation. During a bilateral meeting on June 4 in Abidjan, Ivorian authorities and officials from the European INTERREG MAC program formalized the country's integration into ten major projects, representing a total budget of over 25 million euros .

Perfect alignment with the 2026-2030 National Development Plan

This funding is in line with the vision of the new National Development Plan (NDP) 2026-2030 . Representing the Prime Minister, Hervé Aka N'Zai emphasized the perfect convergence between the ambitions of INTERREG MAC and the priorities of the Ivorian State.

Of the 34 initiatives selected during the first call for projects, Côte d'Ivoire is directly involved in ten of them, in addition to the strategic ATLANTE project.

The investments will target key sectors for the country's economic and environmental future:

  1. Innovation & Technology: Digital transformation, research and competitiveness of SMEs.
  2. Sustainability: Circular economy, sustainable agriculture and food security.
  3. Environment & Energy: Adaptation to climate change, marine technologies (blue economy) and green economy.
  4. Human capital: Skills development and mobility.

INTERREG MAC: A lever for growth for the private sector

What is the INTERREG MAC program?
It is an ambitious cooperation program uniting Europe, West Africa and the Atlantic region. With a total budget of 200 million euros (85% financed by the European Regional Development Fund - ERDF), it offers privileged access to international funding and networks.

While Ivory Coast aims to mobilize nearly 175 billion euros

With investments planned by 2030 , these European funds act as a catalyst to stimulate growth, boost innovation and create jobs, while placing the private sector at the heart of the dynamic.

Next step: June 15th

The momentum won't stop there. The launch of a fourth call for projects is scheduled for June 15th , opening the way to new opportunities for Ivorian stakeholders.

To maximize these chances, the Coordination Unit of the Strategic Partnership Côte d'Ivoire–European Union , attached to the Prime Minister's Office and acting as the national focal point, will continue to closely support local institutions and organizations in preparing their applications.
