Droits des femmes : Yamoussoukro au cœur de la diplomatie parlementaire francophone
The city of Yamoussoukro was abuzz on April 22nd and 23rd, 2026, with the intersessional meeting of the Network of Women Parliamentarians of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF) . This strategic gathering provided an opportunity to review legislative progress and define new priorities for gender equality within the Francophone community.

As guest of honor, the President of the Ivorian Senate, Kandia Camara , outlined the successes of Côte d'Ivoire, driven by the 2016 Constitution. She highlighted, in particular:
"In the Senate, female representation has increased from 21% in 2018 to 25% in 2023," Ms. Camara stated, highlighting a dynamic of constant progress.
Despite these victories, the President did not gloss over the challenges. Socio-cultural inertia , early marriages , and regional disparities in education remain major obstacles.

In closing, Lydienne Epoubé , Vice-President of the Network, praised the excellence of the Ivorian organization. The delegates left with the ambition to build a common legislative framework, convinced that equal opportunities are the essential driving force for sustainable development and peace within the Francophone community.
Alongside the working sessions, the delegations were able to discover the realities on the ground through visits to NGOs and the discovery of the tourist heritage of the political capital.
