Washington : La Côte d'Ivoire salue le bilan d'Abebe Aemro Selassie au FMI
On the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, Côte d'Ivoire officially paid tribute to Abebe Aemro Selassie, outgoing Director of the IMF's African Department. At a ceremony held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, Ambassador Ibrahima Touré conveyed the Ivorian government's gratitude for what he considered an exemplary collaboration.
The Minister of Economy, Adama Coulibaly, through his diplomat, emphasized Mr. Selassie's rigorous leadership. His expertise was crucial in stabilizing the Ivorian economy and supporting structural reforms despite global shocks, particularly those stemming from the pandemic. To mark his departure, he was presented with a traditional Tonkpi outfit, a symbol of wisdom, thus reaffirming Côte d'Ivoire's commitment to maintaining its close partnership with the financial institution.
