Aboisso : un présumé meurtrier arrêté après la découverte d’un corps derrière l’INFAS

An arrest that rekindles debates on security in Aboisso.

On Monday, October 20, 2025, the forces of the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI) arrested an individual suspected of having a direct link with the murder of a young man whose lifeless body was discovered behind the National Institute for the Training of Health Workers (INFAS) in Aboisso, last September.

According to initial information gathered from local authorities, the suspect, identified by the initials TH , alias "Djanawe" , had been actively sought for several weeks. He was reportedly apprehended following a series of investigations carried out as part of Operation Sparrowhawk , a national initiative aimed at strengthening the fight against organized crime and violent crime.

The discovery of the body, near a health facility in the heart of the city, deeply shocked the residents of Aboisso. Several witnesses described the scene as gruesome, while judicial authorities launched an appeal for witnesses to help advance the investigation.

Thanks to cross-checking and corroborating testimonies, investigators were able to trace the suspect, who was already known to the police for similar incidents in the Sud-Comoé region.

According to security sources, the arrested man partially admitted the facts during his preliminary hearing. He is currently in police custody at the BRI in Aboisso, awaiting presentation to the prosecutor for further legal proceedings.

The case has aroused keen interest in the city, where residents have praised the responsiveness of the police, while calling for increased security in sensitive areas.

The local authorities, for their part, reiterate their commitment to "shed full light on this tragedy" and to "ensure that justice is done in accordance with the law."

The investigation is still ongoing.
