The Ivorian government is launching an economic offensive. A major fundraising campaign has been launched targeting private investors and technical and financial partners (TFPs). The goal? To raise 11,138.2 billion CFA francs to finance the brand-new National Development Plan (NDP) 2026-2030.

This ambitious strategy was unveiled on Friday, May 22, 2026 in Abidjan by Dr. Souleymane Diarrassouba, Minister of Planning and Development.

A major strategic meeting in July 2026

To finalize this fundraising effort, an international advisory group will meet on July 8th and 9th at the Sofitel Abidjan Hôtel Ivoire . This platform will serve as a showcase to persuade:

  1. Bilateral and multilateral donors.
  2. Institutional investors.
  3. The national and international private sector.
The key figure: The overall cost of the 2026-2030 National Development Plan is estimated at 114,838.5 billion CFA francs . Funds sought from external partners will supplement the internal financial effort already undertaken by the Ivorian government.

To propel Ivory Coast to new heights by 2030

Dr. Diarrassouba's stated ambition is clear: to elevate Côte d'Ivoire to the status of an upper-middle-income country by 2030. To achieve this, the government is relying on three pillars:

  1. Sustained economic growth.
  2. Accelerated industrialization.
  3. A tangible improvement in the living conditions of the population.

To maximize its chances, Abidjan plans to diversify its sources of financing by reaching out to unconventional actors and private capital, primarily targeting sectors with high job creation potential.

Beyond funding: Trust and governance

This July meeting will not be just about seeking capital. It is also a crucial test to consolidate Côte d'Ivoire's reputation on the international stage, reaffirm its economic stability, and prove its ability to carry out large-scale structural reforms.

The minister concluded by emphasizing the need for optimal coordination between the government, donors, and the private sector to ensure the real impact of these investments on the ground. A solemn appeal was made to all development stakeholders to make this summit a historic success.
