Côte d’Ivoire : 182,3 milliards F CFA pour révolutionner la formation professionnelle
The Minister of Technical Education, Vocational Training, and Apprenticeship, N'Guessan Koffi , received overwhelming support from the National Assembly's Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs (CAEF) on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. The members of parliament approved a budget of 182,301,855,312 CFA francs for the 2026 fiscal year, confirming the government's priority: to equip Côte d'Ivoire with a technical education system that meets its industrialization ambitions.
Before parliamentarians, the Minister presented an action plan structured around four strategic programs, comprising 13 priority investment actions , 8 actions dedicated to quality , and 5 actions focused on skills training and apprenticeships . An ambitious roadmap aimed at accelerating the skills development of Ivorian human capital.
“Côte d’Ivoire aims to industrialize, but must address a crucial skills gap. This budget of over 182 billion CFA francs will allow us to continue transforming the TVET system into a high-performing tool for development,” the Minister stated, emphasizing the urgent need to adapt training programs to the real needs of the economy.
N'Guessan Koffi also emphasized the need to strengthen synergies between the government and the productive sector. The goal: to build a system capable of supporting young people, in both urban and rural areas, towards sustainable employment. For him, TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) must become a driver of opportunity and a key lever for reducing youth unemployment.
Furthermore, the Minister presented the CAEF with the 2024 report of the METFPA and the general policy implemented by his department. The members of parliament welcomed the progress made and expressed their confidence in the continuation of the reforms undertaken.
With this record budget, Ivory Coast confirms its commitment to investing massively in skills, the cornerstone of a competitive and industrialized economy.
