DGI : Un premier trimestre 2026 en croissance malgré un objectif non atteint

The Director General of Taxes, Ouattara Sié Abou , presented the tax administration's performance for the first quarter of 2026 during a review workshop held on Friday, April 17. While the indicators are positive compared to the previous year, the initial forecasts were not fully met.

Key figures for the first quarter

  1. Revenue collected: 1,214.2 billion FCFA
  2. Initial target: 1,332.6 billion FCFA
  3. Completion rate: 91.1%
  4. Gap to be filled: 118.4 billion FCFA

Despite this performance shortfall compared to forecasts, the DGI shows positive momentum with an increase of 9.7% (or +106 billion FCFA) compared to the first quarter of 2025. This progress is driven by increased digitalization and better efficiency in the recovery of arrears.

Obstacles to performance

Several factors explain the negative difference recorded:

  1. Reforms on hold: A delay in the implementation of the new property tax reform.
  2. Underperformance in sectors: Results below expectations for VAT and the tax on salaries and wages (ITS).
  3. Technical constraints: IT instabilities and disruptions to the electricity supply have hampered the optimal deployment of services.

Recovery strategy and outlook

Faced with these challenges, the Ministry of Economy, through Vassogbo Bamba , advocates an immediate strengthening of recovery actions and a stabilization of digital collection tools.

The stakes are high for the rest of the year. For the second quarter of 2026 , the DGI has set the bar high with a target of 1,775.4 billion FCFA , which would represent an ambitious growth of 26.4% compared to last year.
