National Education: 1,212 new science teachers to be deployed starting Monday

Éducation nationale : 1 212 nouveaux enseignants de sciences en renfort dès lundi

The Ivorian government is taking action to address the shortage of science teachers. This Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Ebimpé Technical High School, the Minister of National Education, N'Guessan Koffi , officially completed the intensive training of 1,212 contract teachers . These new recruits will begin their posts across the country this Monday, April 13.

A strategic deployment for science

This initiative specifically targets mathematics and physics , disciplines particularly affected by staff shortages. The distribution of this first wave is as follows:

Note: This contingent is reinforced by 500 additional teachers from the CAFOP of Yamoussoukro, bringing the total reinforcement to more than 1,700 agents from the start of the school year on Monday.

Status and remuneration: towards sustainable integration

The minister reassured the recruits about the long-term viability of their commitment. While their current status remains contractual, a career path is emerging.

  1. Evaluation: Educational monitoring will be carried out for two years.
  2. Purpose: Negotiations are underway to allow their permanent integration into the Civil Service at the end of this period.

Social support measures

To ensure a smooth installation, the Director of Human Resources, Ouattara Drissa, specified the financial and logistical conditions:

  1. Installation bonus: 75,000 CFA francs paid upon taking up the position.
  2. Monthly salary:
  3. 150,000 CFA francs for middle school teachers.
  4. 175,000 CFA francs for high school teachers.
  5. Accommodation: Accommodation facilities have been negotiated to facilitate their local integration.

A commitment at the highest level of the State

N'Guessan Koffi praised the political will of President Alassane Ouattara and the Mambé government. This massive deployment is not merely an emergency measure, but a key step in the reform aimed at raising the quality of Ivorian schools and guaranteeing quality scientific supervision for all students.
