The Embassy of Côte d'Ivoire in Washington, DC, recently launched an exciting drawing contest entitled "I Draw My Côte d'Ivoire." This initiative aims to highlight and encourage the creativity of children and teenagers of Ivorian origin residing in the United States, while strengthening their connection to their country of origin.

Who can participate?

The competition is open to young artists aged five to 15. It is divided into three categories to ensure fair competition:

1. Category 1: 5-7 years old
2. Category 2: 8-11 years old
3. Category 3: 12-15 years old

Themes to Explore

Participants are invited to create an original work inspired by one or more of the following fundamental themes:

1. 🕊️ Peace and National Cohesion
2. 🌳 Environmental Preservation
3. 🎭 Ivorian Culture
4. 🌴 Tourism in Ivory Coast

According to the Embassy, this competition has the dual objective of stimulating artistic expression and promoting essential values such as peace and respect for the environment within the young diaspora.

Attractive Prizes and Recognition

The Embassy will reward the most promising talents in each category with substantial prizes:

1. Financial rewards: The top three winners in each category will receive prizes ranging from $200 to $1,000 .
2. Recognition: Certificates will be awarded to the winners.
3. Travel expenses for award recipients residing outside of Washington, DC will be covered by the Embassy for the ceremony.

Submission Guidelines

Young artists must submit an original drawing created entirely without assistance . All artistic techniques are accepted (pencil, paint, pastel, collage, mixed media, etc.).
